Election of MEPs on May 25th, 2014
On May 25th, 2014, EU citizens will be summoned to the polls to elect their MEPs.
For the stateless nations of Europe, the issue in this election is to build a federal, decentralized, democratic and social Europe of the peoples. The Occitan Nation Party calls therefore on citizens to make a priority of fighting French right-wing and left-wing « sovereignist » candidates who oppose the necessary building of a federal and democratic Europe and the recognition by Europe of « regional » languages and national « minorities.
In the South‑West constituency (Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi-Pyrénées and Aquitaine regions), the activists of the Occitan Nation Party have decided to create a collective which calls on Occitan, Basque and Catalan independentists to join it to present clear and loud our common demands and cease being mere branches of French political parties. This collective will field a list of union for a Europe of the peoples. We call on voters in the South-West constituency to appear on the list and to support it. Whether or not they go along with this approach, we salute our fellow Basque and Catalan independentists, some of whom are already committed as candidates on other lists, and we declare our solidarity with them.
